The World Robot Olympiad (WRO) is one of the largest robotics competitions in the world for children and teenagers. In Austria, WRO Austria has been inspiring young talent aged 8 to 19 for technology and science since 2018.

An international final with teams from all over the world.
Three categories – from 8 to 19 years old
WRO is split into three age categories: Elementary, Junior, and Senior. Together they cover kids and teenagers aged 8 to 19 — each level with its own age-appropriate challenge.
Elementary
The entry point for the youngest — exactly where our course starts, preparing them step by step for their first competition.
Junior
More complex tasks and more demanding robots for teenagers with some competition experience.
Senior
The top tier with the toughest challenges — for experienced teams on their way to the world's best.
From the course to the World Final
Our course is the first step. Step by step, it leads to full participation in WRO Elementary.
Fundamentals of mechanics and gearing, programming from semester 2, Python from semester 4 — a new robot every lesson.
Kids design and program their own robot for a WRO task.
Taking part in WRO Austria's competitions and competing for the national title.
Winners travel to the international final — free of charge — to represent Austria.
As champion, to the World Final — free of charge
WRO Austria's winning teams in every category get to travel to the international World Final for free and represent Austria in front of the whole world. The World Final is held in a different country every year.
For the kids it's far more than a competition: a trip, new friendships across borders, and an experience that stays with them.
